The Nordic Phenom Academy was first hinted at early in 2024 when it was announced that Niklas Anttila, with the help of Discmania, would make his mark on disc golf by supporting the next generation of disc golf talent. Now the much-anticipated Academy has finally launched!
The academy has a goal to support at least 1000 young disc golfers over the next 4 years. In 2024, the academy will support 250 Finnish youth under the age of 18 with a passion for disc golf.
"In the beginning the biggest thing is supporting young people and children, because that's when support is needed the most and it matters the most," says Niklas Anttila about the Nordic Phenom Academy to Frisbeegolfmedia. "I hope this gives a boost and motivation to young people. Something like this would have been a big deal for me when I was young."
The selection will be based on an application form that is open until August 31st. The selected Finnish juniors will receive a package from Discmania after the form has closed and the selection has been made.
